Paul Neyron rose 2

Wednesday so far

It's hot again today.

Last night I fell asleep slightly after 9:00 p.m.  I slept until a little after 10:00 p.m., then got up briefly only to attempt to go to sleep again.  I lay there with my eyes closed until 1:00 a.m., then got up and read for a while.  I think I went to sleep again around 5:00 a.m., and dozed a little before lying there for another few hours.  I gave up on sleeping and got up around 10:30 a.m.

I read various posts on Tumblr for a bit.  Darren Criss talked on a radio show about several things.  One was about dating Mia Swier.  He said they'd been together since before he started on Glee.  They're well aware of the haters.  I felt bad.  From everything I've heard, she seems bright and talented, and in no way deserves to be hated on.  I don't know why people can't just be happy about their relationship.

Mom can't drive until at least when she sees the opthamologist again, which is Monday.  I took her to Wal-Mart, the library and the grocery store.  The library parking lot was very busy, so we just dropped books off at the bookdrop.  Mom couldn't read any of the regular print books she had out, even with reading glasses.  She has a couple of large print books she's reading and an audio book she's listening to.  I'll probably take her to the library again soon so she can get more large print books and audio books.  I suggested we listen to The Land of Stories, but she wanted to finish the audio book she was currently listening to.

After we got back, I went out and smelled the roses.  I'm not a particular fan of the scent of the Red Rose of Lancaster.  It's supposed to be better when the petals are dried.  It looks pretty, though.  I like the flowers of 'Rosa Mundi', the striped sport of it.  I've taken several pictures of those roses.  'Maiden's Blush' has a lot of flowers.  I really like the scent of that one.  It's an old alba.  I'll probably go out again to enjoy the roses.

There were more places Mom wanted to go to on another trip, like to the dollar store to get Father's Day card.  We'll probably take another trip out later today, and if not, we'll likely go out tomorrow morning -- or when I get up, which may or may not be morning.

Fuck Yeah Glee Podcast is doing a season four rewatch.  Tonight they'll be talking about "The New Rachel," "Britney 2.0" and "Makeover."

Later: I watched the episodes.

There's video from Paris of Chris Colfer holding hands with his boyfriend.  Apparently it's the day for real life relationships to be shown and talked about.  I'm very happy for him, that he has someone.

Later still: I listened to the podcast.  I thought it was a good podcast.  They covered a lot about those episodes.  I'll listen to it again.

A. and I talked for about an hour.  He caught me up on his life, some about his job fixing things electronic and mechanical.  I told him about how a computer science major college friend of my brother's had been trying to diagnose a problem with J.'s computer, and had said, "It's either the hardware or the software."

I had texted A. while I was watching the Philadelphia Pride Parade, to tell him that that's where I was.  I told him tonight about the Pride Parade and Fest.  It's more fun when you go with someone, but I've gone to the Fest by myself a few years.  I was glad to see the parade.  A. has gone to the Green Bay Pride celebration for the last couple of years, and is planning on going again this year.

I told him about fandom things.  He's a big fan of Chris Colfer's as well.  There are a lot of people I know through The Backlot (formerly AfterElton) who are.  There's always a troll or two, but most are happy for him in his accomplishments, and there are the teenaged gay boys who look up to him.
