Paul Neyron rose 2

Thursday (and some of Wednesday's reading)

Well, today was the day I was supposed to go to Longwood Gardens with S., but he said yesterday that he felt like he was getting the flu.  So much for that idea.

Instead, Mom and I did some shopping.  We went to DSW again.  I had hopes that since my foot wasn't so sore -- and perhaps not as swollen -- that I might find some sneakers I liked on the clearance racks.  There wasn't much in the way of sneakers there, though.  We continued on in our shopping to Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts, where I got several zipper pull replacements.  We'll see how they work.

We went to Wal-Mart, where I did find a pair of black sneakers.  I tried on the size 7 and then the size 6 1/2 of one sort.  The 6 1/2 rubbed the side of my foot, so I went with the 7.  We'll see how that works.  They were $20, so it wasn't bad.  Mom did some shopping in the Christmas clearance sale section, and got bows and gift tags.  I said that a hundred gift tags would last her a good long while.  That was how many were in the package of them she chose.  That was about $1.50, I think.

I have plenty to read.  I did a lengthy post about my book shopping on the m/m romance forum of AE.  I enjoyed Belinda McBride's "Gift of the Maggie."  I liked her Changeling stories, so I went ahead and got a story of hers from MLR.

I read James' story the day I got it.  It was different having a story from Kabe's perspective, but I really liked the story.  Kabe is a bright young man.  He's right that Joe doesn't try to control every little thing in their lives, just takes charge when he needs to do so in public, and takes charge in the bedroom.  I enjoyed seeing more aspects of their relationship dynamics, and from the other side.  It made it even more clear how much Kabe gets out of the relationship and how much he loves Joe.

It was snowing today when we left Wal-Mart, mostly just flurries as we drove home.  It was coming down a bit after we got home, but it got dark soon after that, and I didn't see if any of the snow stuck.  I don't think it would have.  It wasn't snowing that hard, I don't think, and it was cold out, but not terribly cold.
