Paul Neyron rose 2

learning gadgets -- Sunday

Well, kind of.  It turns out that E.M.'s "low version" of an iPad was a Samsung Galaxy Tab.  I suppose it's significant that she thought that "iPad" was the generic term for a tablet.  She is a senior citizen, and probably more up with technology than some.  She seems to use her desktop and laptop computers well enough.

I explain about my e-readers by saying they're "like a Kindle."  People who have vaguely heard of e-readers have heard of Kindles, so that seems to be nearly the generic term.  Well, those who have looked into it a bit more have heard of Nooks.

E.M. had brought her laptop with her, but couldn't get on the wireless network, as it's a secure one and I didn't have the number for it.  I looked up some of her favorites on the desktop, and tried to add them as favorites to the Galaxy Tab by going to those sites and pushing the page-and-star icon, but it didn't seem to have taken the next time we opened the browser.

I got a good bit of editing done.  It's a long novella, but an interesting one, with angels and demons.  "Nice" demons are getting popular as mythological lovers.  Well, I suppose it's a change from vampires and werewolves.

I got little sleep, as I'd felt sleepy at 1:30 and gone to bed, only to nap for a half hour or an hour.  I "officially" got up around 6:30.  I'm sure I'll sleep better tonight.  The time changed last night, too, so it feels an hour later.

Not much else going on today, except for reading AE and making various comments there.
