Paul Neyron rose 2

Friday

I got out and about on various errands, including trying to pay some of my car insurance early.  I went to the insurance office, and the agent checked, but said that I couldn't pay it until I was billed in December.  Having a car insurance bill in December isn't great, because I want to get presents for people, but I'll just have to save up for it.

After that, I went to Best Buy and looked longingly at the Sony PRS-T1.  I called my brother, and he told me I had enough e-readers.  He still likes the idea of giving one to Dad for Dad's birthday or for Christmas.  I'd say I don't know what my problem is, but I do know.  At least I refrained from buying the e-reader today.  Also, I called someone who would talk some sense into me, which J. did -- for that moment, anyway.

Having been good that way, I decided to get a new phone, which is something I have been wanting for quite some time and didn't actually have extra of, or not exactly.  I told the associate (or whatever they're called there) that I wanted a phone with 3G and a physical keyboard.  The associate, A., showed me a few that were free with the signing of a two-year contract.  I ended up getting an LG Quantum, which was the first one he showed me.  The keyboard seemed best out of the ones I tried.

There is a lot I have yet to figure out with it, including answering it when it's powered down.  I can hear it ring, but am baffled as to picking up the call.  It's not pushing the power button or home button to get the call.  Someone who reviewed hers online said the same thing, so it's not just me.  Other reviewers had to have figured it out.  I'm sure I'll be back to the AT&T store to ask about many aspects of using the phone.

I have figured out getting online, and getting e-mail is easy.  A. set that up for me.  Dad helped me set up wireless.  The data plan is $25 a month, which I don't think is bad.  The reviews say it's heavy, which it is, relatively so, but my purse is heavy anyway.  They also say the screen is small.  It's 3.5 inches.  The pinch and zoom works to enlarge the parts I want to see.  I'm pretty happy with the web part.  Perhaps I'll get S.D. to make me a case for the phone.

All in all, it wasn't a bad day.

Additional notes: I'm enjoying the Magic Mansion story.
