I had a shower, which I was very happy about. I liked washing my hair before all this with my ankle, but I've learned not to take it for granted, and to greatly appreciate having clean hair. The tub is being re-tiled next week, so I'll just be washing in the sink for some time, starting Monday. A few months ago, I'd put my hand down on the built-in soap dish for balance -- yes, this was when my legs were both good -- and had the soap dish slowly fall out of the wall. There was a hole in the drywall behind it, and the drywall was all black around the hole and as far as you could see. We're getting new wall being put in behind the tile, too, or at least a big patch of fresh wall.
Well, I can wash my hair in the kitchen sink, so I'll try to do that every couple of days. I'd like to go get my hair dyed red again, but maybe in October when I have more money, and can try to arrange for a ride.
And what took up hours of my Saturday: Chrolli book club on Saturday night. Here was my quote: "There wasn't much Chrolli, but A. introduced us to other soap operas, then started playing all kinds of random insane shit." We saw the latest kiss video from deepdarkmidnight, which had May's translation of some dialogue from Friday's episode. Then we watched a couple of videos of best quotes from the time of the engagement and wedding. As I'd been saying, Christian said some of the most beautiful and poetic things about how he felt about Olli, and his dreams for the wedding. Olli said some beautiful things about how he felt about Christian, too.
We watched the clips of Friday's episode from Ichglotzgerman, having just seen May's translation of part of the dialogue. It was lovely how the guys support each other. Olli is back to being supportive of Christian, and it's great.
Somewhere along the line, A. started playing videos of a show abbreviated as FoQ. I'd heard of it before. It's teenagers, and it's a Spanish soap opera. It was totally insane, but fairly entertaining. I wasn't expecting that we'd get into other soap operas, but I was kind of glad to see some of the storyline of a show I'd heard so much about.
I asked about the "McDean" that A. talks about, and he played some episode clips from Hollyoaks(?) The characters in that storyline, Jean-Paul and Craig, were much younger than I thought they'd be -- perhaps in their twenties. Their families were very shrill, and it was all dramatic and soaptastic. I think A. just had the highlights of very exciting parts of the storyline, because it wa high drama all the way. Again, it was interesting to see the characters I'd heard a lot about.
