Paul Neyron rose 2

June roses and other flowers

The Old Garden Roses are blooming.  Yesterday I picked flowers from 'Cardinal de Richelieu', 'Mme. Ernst Calvat', 'Mme. Isaac Pereire', the Jacobite rose (Rosa x alba 'Maxima'), 'Mme. Zoetmans' and 'Fantin-Latour'.  Put them in a crystal bowl.  'Botzaris' and the sweet briar are blooming, too.  The herbs I'm growing this year include spearmint, ginger mint, lemon balm, dill, basil, chives, elecampane and anise hyssop.  The fuchia is blooming and so are the pinks.  I wish more of my containers matched, but most of the roses and other flowers are growing well in them.

Today: picked flowers from 'Mme. Zoetmans' and the unidentified remontant pink rose.  Took pictures of 'Ispahan' and the Jacobite rose.  First few blooms of 'Maiden's Blush' open.  White Rose of York (Rosa x alba 'Semi-plena') in full bloom.  Autumn Damask in bud.  White dianthus flowering.  Alpine strawberry has a couple of berries nearly ripened.
