book club

Well, the Chrolli book club (http://www.justin.tv/ftlnewsfeed) was KC and me tonight.  It turned into an actual book club discussion when KC asked about the "e-book author I talked about."

"There are a lot of them," I said.  We established that KC wanted e-book recommendations, and I had much to say.  I gave myself a shortcut by linking to the m/m romance forum on AfterElton, where I'd already said some of it: http://www.afterelton.com/node/33782

I pointed out where a lot of free e-books and short stories were (legally) available, too.  I don't know what happened to Samhain offering the first half of a book as a promotional.  They redid the Samhellion site so you can't find anything at all.  Do they even offer promotionals any more?  I can't tell.  They had cool free short stories once upon a time, too.  Those got me to buy several of the authors' books.

Reading The Syndicate got me to eventually get most of Jules Jones' books.  I think offering things free works.  At least, I get enticed into buying other books, though it's not hard to get me to do that.
