partying and traveling

Saturday: Went to Aunt A.'s to *finally* have our Christmas celebration.  It was pretty good.  Not enough time to talk to some of the relatives I wanted to talk to, but it was good to see my grandmother and aunts and uncles, and the cousins who made it.  I offered those of my relatives with pierced ears earrings I had made.  Aunt P. (S.) said she'd worn the ones I'd made last year all the time, but they'd broken, and could I fix them.  I think I still have oval opaque black glass beads around, so it shouldn't be too difficult.  I gave Aunt A. a container of fudge I'd made, and gave my other Aunt P. sugarfree candy.  I gave out gift certificates in small amounts, but at least I thought of everyone.  The ones to a chain bookstore were about enough for them to get a paperback book.  I got some gift certificates, and cookies, and clothes.  Grandma S. had sent money, so I got some clothes with that -- sweatpants and sweatshirts, and socks.  Hey, I needed socks.  Aunt A.'s retirement community has a small indoor pool, and a greenhouse, and of course, a little library.  I was jealous.  You don't even have to leave the building.  But I'm glad she found a nice place for her retirement.

I went home with my brother -- back to Baltimore with him -- to hang out with him for a couple of days.  Yesterday, we traveled from Baltimore to Ocean City, Maryland with the band he's a roadie for.  It was a good performance.  Ocean City is a lot less busy in January, when it's snowing, that's for sure.  Got my proofreading for today done, and will probably head back home tomorrow morning, so I can make it to the various commitments I have in Pennsylvania this week.
