Retrospectively: I think I actually did go to sleep "pretty soon." I got up for the day around 9:30 a.m.
It turned out that my little data entry job had been moved to another location, so I didn't have to work after all, and won't be any more. I'm sure I'll find something else to get me out of the house for a little while each week. The line editing jobs I have keep my mind very busy every week.
Mom and I went on a productive trip to the grocery store. We said hi to Z. and talked to P. for a bit while we were in her line.
When we got home, I went around and looked at my flowers. The roses I planted yesterday look okay. 'La Reine' got uprooted a couple of times as I tried to wrap hardware cloth and chicken wire around it, but it seems to be all right now. 'Carefree Beauty' looked like she'd settle in okay. The 'Mme. Lemoine' lilac I planted near her is what got somewhat battered with the hardware cloth wrapping I put around both plants, but it looked like it still had some green leaf buds.
The 'Mme. Lemoine' lilac I planted by the 'Botzaris' rose and whatever else had leaf buds when I planted it, and has leaves now.
'The Fairy' rose has a couple of flowers opening at the tops of clusters of buds. The plant has at least five clusters of buds, and going strong. It's had several flushes of bloom from Spring to now, and an abundant amount of flowers each time. It's a true repeat-bloomer.
