Later: I actually went to sleep relatively early. I think I got up around 9:00 a.m.
I went out in the late morning to work in the yard. I planted most of the rest of the 'Sky Blue' grape hyacinths, and the Muscari latifolium ones. I'll offer a couple to friends. I planted all of the 'Cloth of Gold' crocus today. I planted a bunch of 'Tete-a-Tete' daffodil bulbs and some of the "regular" floppy-leaved hyacinths and 'Cheerfulness' and 'Yellow Cheerfulness' daffodils. Also I planted some tiger lily bulbils.
I came in for a late lunch, and then went back out to work. I lopped back weedy trees and grapevines in the former rose garden that currently has some daffodils in it, and one iris remaining from the ones I planted there. It has a couple of big lilacs in front of the garden, facing the west side of the house. It had been several years since that area had any roses in it. In the cleared space, I planted a 'Carefree Beauty' rose and a 'Mme Lemoine' lilac. I wrapped them in hardware cloth. I planted the last of the roses I needed to plant, 'La Reine.' I wrapped that in hardware cloth also. It feels good to know that all the roses that I expect to get this year are planted, and all but one of the lilacs. I feel a sense of accomplishment.
In the late evening, I finally watched "Black Widow."
