I hope to get some errands done.
Mom and I got a few errands done in the afternoon. We considered the trip to the grocery store the most important.
I think it was after we got home that I went around the yard looking at my flowers. It was before the weekend, anyway. The 'Aunt Honey' rose that I'd noticed in bud a few days ago was fully blown, even overblown. I picked that regardless, to enjoy the last little while of the fragrance of it. I picked the 'Lord Mountbatten' rose that had been blooming, and was now drooping from the storm. That flower was still in full bloom, not quite going by by that point. I picked a bud from the "Because She Served' rose. That's a nice clear red in color.
The storms held off until nighttime. At one point when there was a lot of thunder, I lit a big beeswax candle and had it on the kitchen table as I did various things around the kitchen and in the adjoining rooms. The lights blinked several times, but the power didn't actually go out for longer than a blink at a time here.
I went to sleep fairly early, by my standards.
