Later: I was out and about today running various errands, and then Mom and I went to the church library, and she did some weeding. I'd given her a batch of shelf list cards for books that I thought could be weeded from the library, and she agreed with me on the majority of them. Some she said were classics, and some she said that church members had been checking out, and some she said that the church library didn't have any other book on the topic. But she agreed with most, and pulled others beside that, and after the group of cards that I had looked up in GoodReads.
I'd been playing phone tag with L.M. for the whole week, and we finally got in touch. We ended up talking for nearly two hours. She'd said she'd had a little operation late in the past week, and I was wondering what that was. It turned out that she'd had a deviated septum fixed. I said I'd had that done in 2005 or 2006 or so, and what my experience had been at the time. We caught up on the world in general.
