Later: I had a video appointment with Dr. G. The technology worked out all right, and the appointment went as I thought it would. Things are okay.
I got very sleepy afterward, and was going to go lie down, but instead I went with Mom to a grocery store, and stocked up on provisions again.
After we got home and put our groceries away, we started watching Congress begin to try to do what should have been their ceremonial duty of recording the votes of electors from the presidential elections. I'd read that there weren't any faithless electors, which was good. However, there were congresspeople who wanted to object. And then there was a mob that took over the Capitol for a while. I couldn't believe it. Mom and Dad and I had never seen anything like that happening in the U.S.
Eventually, Congress got back to doing their thing. But it was scary that there was a disruption of democracy for a little while. I watched CNN late into the night.
