Later: I was up for a couple more hours finishing Jordan L. Hawk's book Unhallowed. It's a riff off of H.P. Lovecraft's "The Dunwich Horror," but delightfully topsy-turvy. For example, in having a kinder, gentler, humanized version of a tentacle monster that really doesn't want to destroy the world. Paraphrasing: "I'd really rather not be a tool. Thanks anyway." This in the "tool of massive destruction and terror" sense, too.
Mom and I went out in the late afternoon to get a bit of fresh air at a local park. It was quite cloudy by then. I didn't walk the loop of the path because I had a bad headache and my hip wasn't too good either, but I sat on a bench and watched birds. Mom said that that was a nice peaceful activity. So we had a bit of a change of scene. We picked up takeout from Wendy's.
It wasn't a productive day for me at all, but I think it's good for me to get out of the house and go somewhere that's not a grocery store.
