I went to bed at 2:00 a.m. and woke at 4:30 a.m.  I'll go back to sleep very soon.

The temperature outside is currently 32 degrees F, but the wind chill makes it feel like 23.  In May.  Dad was right a week or so ago about it being too early yet to plant tomatoes, but this is ridiculous.  We may get snow.  It would be a good day to do baking.  We'll see how ambitious Mom and I get.

Later: I went back to bed around 6:30 a.m. or so.  I think I got up again at 9-something.  It was freezing out for most of the day.  I stayed in the house and had a pretty quiet day.  I fried some slices of eggplant in olive oil at lunchtime, and cooked a big pot of jasmine rice at dinnertime.  We had the rice with the leftover bourbon chicken I'd brought home from my last trip to our usual grocery store.  I'm hoping to do the leftover rice as fried rice tomorrow or Monday.

Later still: I caught up with a few people via phone and e-mail.  I got some laundry done, so that was my productive thing for the day, other than doing some cooking.
