catching up -- flowers

When we got home yesterday, I saw that several of the summer damask roses were in full bloom.  I stopped to smell the fragrance of the flowers of 'Mme. Hardy', which is currently by the path from the driveway to the front porch.  It only has one live cane coming up from right above the graft, but that cane is thriving.  It divides partway up, so there are two branches with flowers on them.  At some point, I want to take cuttings of it, so I have some on its own roots.

Today I went out to smell the roses.  'Mme. Zoetmans', 'Kazanlik', the Jacobite rose, and 'Mme. Plantier' are in full bloom.  'Ispahan' has dozens and dozens of flowers open, with many more buds.  'Maiden's Blush' has some flowers blooming, and a lot more buds.  'Botzaris' is in full bloom.  Rosa mundi has a flower open, and many buds showing color.  'Mme. Ernst Calvat' has three flowers open, and a few more buds.  It has a wonderful fragrance itself.  The garden club ladies are coming over for the rose tour on Wednesday afternoon.
