I had a getting nowhere fast day today, but eventually got to A.J.'s. I helped her put together a necklace of plastic beads. What she had in beads were mostly fall colors, and it will be fall in a month or so. The dogs, Penny and Nelly, were having their own health problems. They just turned twelve. They went to the veterinarian over the weekend for health issues. They're goldendoodles, good-sized dogs, and twelve is rather old age for a big dog.
So A.J. and I had a low-key afternoon. A.J.'s brother-in-law C. picked up a couple of pizzas and big containers of salad for dinner, and then A.J. and I went to a program at the local library about chocolate. That was fun.
After I got home, I caught up on the news on CNN. Things are sad. I don't usually cry at real-world things, but I was a little teary-eyed at the discussions of grief, and people sacrificing themselves for their children or other people's children.
I'll read a bit more, and then go to sleep.
