A.J.'s sister B. had called at 11:00 a.m. and left a voice mail saying that A.J. had a nasty stomach virus, and it wasn't a good time for me to visit. I called back a little after noon and said that I'd slept very late anyway. The stars had not aligned, I said. Also I said that I hoped that A.J. felt better soon.
Late in the afternoon, Mom and I went to the usual grocery store to stock up ahead of the snow predicted to come tonight and tomorrow and Tuesday. It was busy there, but we got through relatively quickly. I wasn't feeling ambitious about going out, but later I was glad we went.
