I see Dr. L. in a bit.
I saw a doe and two fawns in the backyard. Dad and I yelled at them to "shoo!" They bounded a few yards away.
After I saw Dr. L., I went to the grocery store, the library, Walmart, and the dollar store. The trips were pretty productive. Later, Mom and I went out and about, she to pick up a book from a church book group member, me to ride along. We tried at the library, but the spaces were still all filled. I returned the rest of the books that were due that day in the bookdrop. Mom and I picked up dinner at Wendy's.
Mom was freaked out because she'd seen what she thought was a giant bug in the living room. She saw something else or two something elses in the family room. One of the things turned out to be a mouse. It ran when Mom screamed.
I called J. to tell him about Mom's travails. I was just going to leave a message, but he answered and we talked for a while.
Later, Mom saw the mouse when she was in the bathroom. Her screams were blood-curdling.
A couple of hours later, I saw the mouse or one of its relatives by the stove. I was on the other side of the kitchen. While Dad and I discussed what to do, it ran under the oven. Dad thrashed around under there with a flyswatter, saying that maybe that would scare it. He also set mousetraps, which I think were more likely to be helpful.
Mostly, though, when I wasn't driving around the area, I read e-books.
