Later, Mom and I went to the university library. I paid my fines on overdue books, books that were due in July and August. (Oops) Well, August was much busier than I thought it would be, and it seemed like through most of the month, it was raining hard and/or 90+ degrees F out. Once I was done work, I didn't feel like doing anything much than just sitting in the air conditioning. At the library, Mom read an issue or two of "Choice," and I got a book Dad wanted to read about subways. He can return that when he's done.
I didn't want to stay at that library too long, because I wanted to get to the Amish market before the traffic got really bad. It was already backing up in that area a little before 2:30 p.m. We got lots of good food. When we left, heading back north, perhaps an hour later, the traffic going south was backed up quite a ways.
My back and hips were aching badly from the heavy lifting that I did Thursday, and I was keyed up and restless for no apparent reason, but I'm glad I got all the things done that I wanted to do during business hours on a weekday, before the holiday.
Later, I chatted via computer with A.W. I watched a TV biography of John McCain on CNN. I called it a night around 1:00 a.m.
