I went to bed around 1:30 a.m.  I think I got up a little after 9:00 a.m.

I had an appointment with Dr. L.  Mom went with me, since my appointments with him are quick.  After that, we picked up dinner at Boston Market.  We went to the library and the grocery store.  I was tired, but it was a productive trip.

I went out again to meet with T.J. at the library, for ESL.  The book we were using had a story about a farmer in jail corresponding with his wife.  The letters were in country English.  T.J. and I talked about Standard American English and non-privileged dialects.  I critiqued the book for having passages in non-Standard English.  T.J. agreed.  She didn't want to learn country dialect.  She wants to learn Standard English.  We looked at small books with articles in them.  T.J. thought she'd be at level 3. She said her reading comprehension was very good.  It was more figuring out how to pronounce some words.
