Saturday so far

I went to bed at 1:00 a.m., and almost immediately heard awful sounds from Dad from Mom and Dad's room.  I figured Mom would wake me if there was an emergency.  I went to sleep and got up briefly at 5:00 a.m., then went back to bed.  I got up for the day at 10:00 a.m.

There were a couple inches of snow when I got up.  Mom talked about going to the grocery store, but we have a good amount of food, and the road in our development doesn't look too good.  We cleaned the dining room, and that was about it for our ambitiousness today.

Dad said he thought his issues last night were from eating ham salad that had gone off.  Mom lectured him about eating food he was dubious about.  My sense of smell used to be very keen.  I would reject milk or meat if it seemed gone by to me, and Mom would taste it, and often decide it was fine.  Since I had an operation between 10-15 years ago to fix my deviated septum, I've lost a good bit of my sense of smell.  On the plus side, I've gotten bronchitis much less often.  Oddly enough, considering that senses often dull with age, Mom's sense of smell seems to have gotten much more keen in the last few years.

I got L.A. Witt's new book.  I'm looking forward to reading that.

Jax on the Backlot Gay Book forum posts about sales.  There are a lot of holiday and end-of-the-year sales in e-books.
