Mom and I are talking about going shopping today.
Later: I fell in my room. My right big toe is swollen, and the base of the toenail is bruised. I can still bend the toe at its joints, though, so I don't think it's broken. That made me feel less ambitious about big shopping trips, though. Mom and I went to the library and to the usual grocery store. It was a pretty productive trip. Maybe tomorrow we can do more shopping.
We saw P., who was working later than usual. We saw S.M., and I talked to her about garden club things and a bit about recent events. She said it was very sad about the nursing home fire.
I sorted out e-books after we got home.
ESL: I had called J.'s daughter K. yesterday evening and this morning to see how J. was doing. This afternoon, I called J. directly and left a message in broken Spanish asking if she were "enfermo" or "mejerarse." K. called me back at 4:30 to say that J. was still coughing and coughing and coughing. It sounded like when I had what I called "the cough that never ends" in June and July. K. thought that J. would need to drop out of the ESL program. Maybe she can come back when she's feeling better.
I texted my brother J. at a quarter to nine. He said he was tired and going to bed, but we'd talk later in the week. I asked A. if he would like to chat tomorrow. He said that should be good. I'll try to remember to keep my phone on me at 9:00 p.m. ET. Currently, it's not quite 10:00 p.m., and I'm exhausted. That fall really shook me up. I'll be okay, though.
